1 tbsp. MSG 1 tbsp. salt 2 tbsp. sesame oil 1 tsp. sesame seed 4 tbsp. soy sauce 1 c. corn oil 3 c. chopped onion 4 c. ground beef 3 c. shredded carrots 4 c. chopped mushrooms 4 c. chopped cabbage 1 tbsp. sugar 3 egg whites 1 1/2 tsp. garlic powder 1 pkg. 50 lumpia 32 fluid oz. corn oil (for frying) Brown ground beef and set aside. Heat at medium-high 1 cup corn oil and sesame oil. Fry onion, cabbage, carrot until done; remove from pan, then cook mushrooms; drain. Mix ground beef, vegetables, and remaining ingredients with egg white, saving yolk. Wrap three tablespoons of mixture in lumpia and paste edge with egg yolk. Fry in 32 ounces corn oil until golden brown. Or, freeze and fry later. Best when eaten hot. Makes about 50. |
