RICH BANANA BREAD 
1 c. butter or shortening
3 c. sugar
6 bananas
2 tsp. baking soda
8 tbsp. buttermilk (or substitute)
4 eggs
3 c. flour
Salt (dash)
2 c. nuts (chopped)
2 tsp. vanilla

Cream butter, sugar and salt. Beat eggs well and add to butter mixture. Mash bananas to pulp and add half to first mixture. Add the soda to buttermilk and mix with egg, butter, sugar and banana mixture. Mix well.

Add remaining bananas. Then add flour, nuts and vanilla. Bake at 400 degrees for 1/2 hour and then at 350 degrees for 1/2 hour in a greased and floured tube pan or cake pan. This can be a 3 layer cake with vanilla butter icing.
