CINNAMON WHIRLS 
3/4 c. walnuts, chopped fine
1/2 c. butter
3/4 c. sugar
1 lg. egg
1 tsp. vanilla
1 1/2 c. flour
1/4 tsp. baking powder
1/4 tsp. salt
3 tbsp. brown sugar
1 1/2 tsp. cinnamon
2 tsp. milk

Beat together butter, sugar, egg and vanilla. Combine flour with baking powder and salt. Blend into creamed mixture to make a stiff dough. Chill 1 hour.

Mix together brown sugar, cinnamon and milk. Roll dough out on a pastry cloth to a 10 inch square. Spread with cinnamon mixture and sprinkle with walnuts, leaving 1/2 inch uncovered at opposite side where dough is not spread with filling. Wrap in waxed paper and freeze until firm. Cut in 1/4 inch slices. Bake on lightly greased cookie sheet at 375 degrees for 5-8 minutes or until edges lightly browned.
