SWEET AND SOUR MEAT BALLS 
BASIC HAMBURGER:

1 lb. lean ground beef
1/2 c. water
1/2 c. matzo meal
1 grated onion
1 tsp. salt
1/4 tsp. pepper

Mix hamburger ingredients and roll into balls 1 to 2 inches in diameter.

SWEET AND SOUR:

1/2 c. sugar
1 pt. boiling water
1/2 tsp. salt
1/4 tsp. pepper
1 c. canned tomatoes or tomato soup
1 tbsp. chopped green pepper
1 grated onion
1 tsp. lemon juice

Melt sugar in saucepan until light brown. Stir carefully so as not to burn. VERY CAREFULLY pour in boiling water. Add rest of ingredients. When this comes to a boil, drop in meat balls and cook slowly in partially covered large pot about 1 1/2 hours. Makes 8 to 12 meatballs.
