SOUTHERN SPICY GINGERBREAD 
2 eggs
3/4 c. brown sugar
3/4 c. light molasses
3/4 c. melted shortening
2 1/2 c. flour
2 tsp. baking powder
1/2 tsp. baking soda
2 tsp. ginger
1 1/2 tsp. cinnamon
1/2 tsp. cloves
1/2 tsp. nutmeg
1/2 tsp. salt
1 c. boiling water

Add beaten eggs to the sugar, molasses and shortening. Mix dry ingredients together and add to mixture. Add the hot water.

Bake in a well greased 9 x 13-inch pan at 350°F for 30 - 40 minutes.

Serve with whipped cream.
