STORE 'N HEAT CHEESE SPREAD 
1 (2 1/2 oz.) jar dried beef
1 c. water
1 (8 oz.) pkg. cream cheese
1/4 c. mayonnaise
1/4 c. chopped onions
2 tsp. dried parsley flakes
2 c. (8 oz.) shredded cheddar cheese
Assorted crackers
Chopped nuts (opt.)

Snip beef into small pieces. Combine beef and water in 2 cup glass measure. Microwave on HI to boiling, 2 to 3 minutes. Drain. Microwave cream cheese, uncovered until softened, 30 to 40 seconds. Mix in beef, mayo, onions, parsley and cheese. Cover tightly and refrigerate up to 1 week. May be rolled into logs and on nuts. Heat on crackers. To serve, spread a rounded teaspoonful on crackers. Sprinkle with nuts. Place about 15 to 20 crackers on plate. Microwave until spread is warm. Makes 2 logs.

Since microwave ovens vary in power, you may need to adjust your cooking time.
