CORN FLAKE COOKIES | |
Sift together: 2 1/4 c. flour 1 tsp. baking powder 1/2 tsp. salt 1/2 tsp. baking soda Blend together: 3/4 c. shortening (butter) 1 c. sugar 2 eggs 2 tbsp. milk 1 tbsp. vanilla Will be lumpy and wet. Add: 1 c. pecans, chopped (I use walnuts) 1 c. dates, chopped (I use dates and raisins) 1/2 c. cherries (I use cherries and dried fruit) Drop by teaspoon into crushed Corn Flakes. Roll into balls. Place on greased cookie sheet. Top with 1/4 of a cherry. Bake at 350 degrees for 11 minutes. (In my oven it's 13 minutes. Just bake until edges are browned. "Do not overbake". They harden as they cool. |
