APPLE DUMPLING 
1 1/2 c. milk
1/3 c. shortening
2 c. flour
1 egg
Salt
1 tsp. baking powder

Pour part of batter in tin. Add sliced apples (plenty). Cover with remaining batter and bake at 350 degrees until done.

SAUCE:

1 c. brown sugar
1/2 c. white sugar or substitute maple syrup for brown sugar
1 c. water
Pat of butter
1 tsp. vinegar

Boil up and thicken with cornstarch, 1 teaspoon lemon and nutmeg.
