PINEAPPLE BARS 
CRUST:

1 c. butter
1 c. brown sugar
1 1/2 c. flour
3 c. oatmeal
1 tsp. baking soda

Mix crust well with hands. Reserve 1 cupful for topping. Pat rest of mixture into 9 x 13 pan.

NEXT LAYER; :

1 c. sweet cream
1 tbsp. butter
3 egg yolks, beaten
1 c. white sugar
1 (20 oz.) can crushed pineapple, drained
3 tbsp. cornstarch

Combine cream, butter, egg yolks, sugar and pineapple in a double boiler. When filling is hot, add 3 tablespoons cornstarch which has been mixed to a paste with cold water. Boil until thick. Pour on crust. Put rest of mixture on top. Bake at 350 degrees for 30 minutes.
