BRAISED BEEF WITH MUSHROOMS 
1 1/2 lb. stewing beef, cut into 1-inch pieces
3/4 c. sliced onion
1 clove garlic, minced
3 tbsp. shortening
1 large can tomato sauce
2 tsp. Worcestershire sauce
1 beef bouillon cubed, dissolved in 1 c. hot water
1 tsp. salt
1 tsp. marjoram
2 tsp. sugar
pepper to taste
1 (4 oz.) can sliced mushrooms
noodles or spaghetti

Brown beef with onion and garlic in shortening. Add remaining ingredients except mushrooms. Simmer until beef is tender. Add mushrooms and heat through. Pour over noodles or spaghetti.
