TEXAS HASH 
1 lb. ground beef
2 lg. onions, sliced
2 green peppers, cut in strips
1 lg. can whole tomatoes
1 c. long cooking rice
1 tsp. chile powder
2 tsp salt
1/4 tsp. pepper

Brown onions and green peppers. Add ground beef. Cook until almost done. Pour off grease. Add tomatoes, rice and seasonings. Mix well and turn into 1 1/2 quart casserole dish. Cover and cook at 350 degrees for 1 hour. (Add a little water if it becomes dry while cooking. Double recipe for picnics or large gatherings).
