1 c. sugar
1 stick softened butter
1 egg
2 tsp. baking powder
3 c. flour
1/4 tsp. baking soda
1/2 c. buttermilk
1 tsp. vanilla
1/2 tsp. salt

Mix all ingredients together and drop by teaspoons on greased cookie sheet. Smooth each cookie with wet spoon. Bake at 400 degrees until brown. This is not too sweet.
