APPLE DANISH | |
DANISH: 1 c. Crisco 3 c. flour 1/2 tsp. salt 1 egg, separated 1/2 c. milk 6 c. apple slices 1/2 c. butter 1 tsp. cinnamon 1 1/2 c. sugar 2 tbsp. flour GLAZE: 3/4 c. confectioners' sugar 1/8 tsp. salt 1-2 tbsp. milk Cut shortening into flour. Combine egg yolks and milk and add to flour mixture. Roll out 1/2 dough and pat in jelly roll pan (11" x 16" x 1/2"). Arrange apple slices on crust. Mix sugar, cinnamon and flour and sprinkle on the apple slices. Dot with butter. Roll out rest of dough and cover apples. Brush with slightly beaten egg white. Bake at 375 degrees for 45 minutes. Top with glaze mixture while still warm. 20 servings. |
