ANGEL BISCUITS 
1 pkg. dry yeast
2 tsp. sugar
1 c. buttermilk
2 1/2 c. flour
1/2 tsp. baking soda
1 tsp. salt
1/2 c. shortening
Melted butter for dipping

Sprinkle yeast and sugar into buttermilk; stir. Sift together flour, soda and salt. Cut shortening into flour mixture until small particles form; stir in buttermilk mixture. Knead dough until workable.

Roll to 1/2" thick. Cut into circles with biscuit cutter; dip dough circles into melted butter. Put on greased baking sheets. Cover and let rise 1 hour. Bake at 350 degrees for 12 minutes or until brown. Can be used for shortcakes.
