THANKSGIVING FEAST PUMPKIN BREAD 
2 2/3 c. sugar
2/3 c. butter, softened
4 eggs, beaten
1 lb. can pumpkin
2/3 c. water
3 1/2 c. flour
2 tsp. baking powder
1 1/2 tsp. salt
1/2 tsp. nutmeg
2/3 c. chopped walnuts (optional)
2/3 c. chopped dates

Cream sugar and butter until fluffy. Stir in eggs, pumpkin and water. Sift together dry ingredients. Gradually stir into pumpkin mixture. Add nuts and dates. Blend well. Pour into 2 greased loaf pans. Bake at 350 degrees for 1 1/2 hours - check sooner if springs back - it's done.
