ALMOND SWEDISH RUSKS | |
1 c. sugar 1/2 c. butter 2 eggs 1/2 c. sour cream 3 c. flour 1 tsp. baking soda 1 c. chopped almonds Cream sugar, butter, eggs, and sour cream. Add flour and soda fold in chopped almonds. Roll dough into 2 long rolls. Place on greased cookie sheet. Bake at 300 degrees until brown, about 45 to 60 minutes. Remove from oven, slice into 1 inch rusks while still warm. Return to oven at 200 degrees and slowly bake until dry 1 1/2 to 2 hours. Store in tight container. Spread lightly with butter and serve with morning coffee. Makes 3 dozen. (Meadow Lake) |
