SAVANNAH RED RICE | |
1/4 lb. bacon 1/2 c. chopped onions 2 c. raw rice Minute Rice 2 c. tomatoes, canned 1/2 tsp. salt 1/2 tsp. pepper 1/8 tsp. of Tabasco (more for spicier) Fry bacon. Saute onion in bacon. Add tomatoes, salt, pepper and Tabasco. Stir until boiling. Add water to make 2 cups of liquid with tomatoes. Simmer 5 minutes. Add Minute Rice cover. Remove from heat and let stand 10 minutes. Toss to mix thoroughly. Serve with shrimp or fish. |
