FRUIT FILLED COOKIES 
2 1/2 c. flour
3 tsp. baking powder
1/4 tsp. salt
1/2 c. butter
1 c. sugar
1 egg
1 tsp. vanilla
1/2 c. milk
Favorite jam or filling

1. Sift flour, baking powder and salt.

2. Cream butter and 1 cup sugar with electric mixer; add egg and vanilla. Beat.

3. Add dry ingredients alternately with milk, beating at low speed.

4. Divide dough into fourths; roll out 1 section at a time.

5 Cut with 2 1/2 inch cookie cutter. Place on greased cookie sheet. Top with 1 teaspoon jam. Flatten slightly. Top with another round. No need to seal. Sprinkle with sugar.

6. Bake at 375 degrees about 10 minutes.
