RHUBARB BARS 
CRUST:

1 1/2 c. oatmeal
1 1/2 c. flour
1 c. brown sugar
1/2 tsp. baking soda
1 c. shortening
1/2 c. nutmeats

FILLING:

3 c. rhubarb (cut fine)
1 1/2 c. sugar
1 tsp. vanilla
2 tbsp. cornstarch
1/4 c. water
Red food coloring

Cook until thick and clear.

Put 3/4 crumb mix into pan. Spread filling over. Sprinkle remainder of crumbs on top. Bake 350 degrees for 30-35 minutes.
