ONION RINGS 
1 lg. Spanish or Bermuda onion
2/3 c. milk or beer
1/2 c. flour
3/4 tsp. baking powder
1/4 tsp. salt

Peel onion; cut into 1/4 inch slices and separate into rings. Heat grease (1 inch deep) to 375 degrees in large skillet. Beat remaining ingredients with rotary beater until smooth. Dip each ring into batter letting excess drip into bowl. Fry a few onion rings at a time about 2 minutes or until golden brown, turning once. Drain.
