2 c. flour 1 c. sugar 1/2 c. cocoa Dash of salt 1/2 tsp. baking soda 1/2 tsp. baking powder 1/2 c. shortening or 1/2 c. melted butter 1 c. milk 1 tsp. vanilla 1 egg FILLING: 1/3 c. evaporated milk 2/3 c. shortening 1/2 c. sugar 1 tsp. vanilla Dash of salt Combine dry ingredients. Add shortening, milk, vanilla and egg to dry ingredients. Drop by teaspoons on a greased and floured cookie sheet. Bake at 400 degrees for 5 to 7 minutes. When cool, sandwich the cookies with the filling. Beat filling with electric beater until smooth and thick. |
