CHEESE AND GRITS 
1 c. instant grits
3 c. water
1 tsp. salt

Stir grits into boiling water and cook 5 minutes, stirring all the time.

Add:

1/2 stick butter
1/2 lb. grated cheese (save some for the top)
2 eggs, well beaten
1 c. milk

Pour into greased casserole, top with cheese and Devonshire crumbs (seasoned bread crumbs). Bake at 350 degrees for 50 minutes. Serves 8.
