LEMON BREAD 
1/2 c. shortening
1 c. sugar
2 eggs, slightly beaten
1 1/4 c. flour
1 tsp. baking powder
1/2 tsp. salt
1/2 c. milk
1/2 c. finely chopped nuts
1/8 to 1/4 c. grated lemon peel
1/4 c. sugar
1 juice of lemon
1 greased bread pan

Cream with beaters shortening, sugar, and eggs. Mix dry ingredients. Combine in shortening mixture alternately with milk; mix in nuts and peel. Bake 1 hour at 350 degrees. Combine juice of lemon and sugar. Pour over hot bread from oven.
