MOM'S PEACH JAM 
Wash jars, scald with boiling water. Have a pot of boiling water when jelly is ready drop lids and rings in water and scald before sealing jar. Peel and chop peaches up fine.

4 c. peaches
5 1/2 c. sugar
2 tbsp. lemon juice
1 box Sure Jell

Put fruit in 6 to 8 quart pot, add 1 box Sure Jell, 1/2 teaspoon butter and lemon juice. Bring mixture to full rolling boil over high heat, stirring constantly. Quickly add sugar to fruit mixture. Bring to full rolling boil, stirring constantly. Continue to boil 1 minute. Remove from heat, skim off any foam on top with large metal spoon. Fill hot jars immediately to 1/8" from top. Seal with hot lids, screw tight, invert jars for 5 minutes. Check to be sure they are sealed.
