BANANA PUDDING 
2/3 c. sugar
1/4 c. cornstarch
1/4 tsp. salt
2 c. milk, scalded
3 slightly beaten egg yolks
2 tbsp. butter
1 tsp. vanilla
1 box vanilla wafers
Bananas

Mix sugar, cornstarch, and salt. Gradually add scalded milk. Cook over moderate heat, stirring constantly, until mixture thickens. cook for 2 minutes after mixture thickens. Add small amount of hot mixture to egg yolks, then stir into remaining hot mixture. Cook until thickens. Add butter and vanilla. Cool completely before pouring over bananas.

When cool layer wafers, bananas and pudding alternately. Add wafers for topping.
