CREAMY BUTTER FROSTING 
1/2 c. milk
1/2 c. granulated sugar
1 tsp. vanilla
1/2 c. (1 stick) butter
1/2 c. Crisco shortening

Heat milk and sugar until sugar is completely dissolved. Add vanilla. Beat butter and Crisco together for 10 minutes. Add the milk mixture, a little at a time, beating until you get desired consistency. You may not need to add all the milk.
