PORK CHOPS AND APPLES (LOW FAT) | |
6 pork chops with excessive fat removed and browned on both sides 4 unpeeled apples, cored, sliced crosswise 1/4 c. brown sugar 1/2 tsp. cinnamon 2 tbsp. butter (corn oil) Brown pork chops on both sides; set aside. In bottom of baking pan arrange sliced apples, sprinkle with brown sugar and cinnamon. Dot with butter. Add the browned chops on top of apples. Cover pan with foil and bake at 350 degrees for about 1 1/2 to 2 hours. The cover on the pan adds moisture to the baking chops, so that the two hour time is not too long. |

I sprayed the crockpot with Pam, put a little apple juice in bottom, sliced one Granny Smith apple, then sprinkled this with the brown sugar and cinnamon as recipe called for. I browned one large pork chop coated with seasoned flour, put this on top........cooked on high 1 hour then reduced to low for 5 hours........it is awesome and has very few calories - even with the little brown sugar - which by the way - turns into a great juicy substance that you can pour over the chop..........as said - really great.
