LAYER SALAD 
1 head lettuce, torn into bite size pieces
1 green pepper, diced
1 stalk celery, sliced
1 sm. pkg. fresh mushrooms, sliced
1 sm. pkg. frozen peas, blanched
1 sm. onion, sliced
2 c. mayo
1/2 c. sour cream
2 tbsp. sugar
2 c. grated cheddar

Place ingredients in large bowl in layers in the above order. Mix mayo, sour cream and sugar together and spread over the top. Sprinkle cheese on top. Cover tightly and refrigerate at least 12 hours. Keeps for several days. Toss and serve.
