BROWNIE SHEET CAKE | |
1 c. water 1 c. butter 1/4 c. cocoa (Hershey's) 2 c. all purpose flour 2 c. sugar 1 tsp. baking soda 1 tsp. cinnamon or vanilla 2 eggs 1/2 c. buttermilk FROSTING: 1/3 c. buttermilk 1/2 c. butter 1/4 c. cocoa 1 c. chopped pecans 1 lb. (1 box) powdered sugar Blend water, butter and cocoa in sauce pan until they boil. Add to the flour, sugar, soda, and cinnamon which have been sifted together. Blend well. Stir in eggs and buttermilk; beat well. Pour into a greased 15 1/2 x 10 1/2 inch jelly roll pan. Bake at 400 degrees for 20 minutes. Spread with frosting while hot. Directions for frosting: Heat buttermilk and butter to boiling and pour over powdered sugar and cocoa which have been sifted together. Beat a little and stir in pecans. Spread on cake. Serves about 20, depending on size cut. |
