APPLE SAUCE MEATBALLS 
1 egg
1/2 c. milk
1 1/2 c. bread crumbs or stuffing croutons
1 1/2 lbs. ground beef
2/3 c. apple sauce
3 tbsp. chopped onions if desired
1 1/2 tsp. salt
1/4 tsp. sage
1/8 tsp. pepper
1 1/4 c. (10 1/2 oz. can) condensed cream of celery soup
1/2 c. water

Beat egg and milk together. Add bread crumbs; beat until smooth and fluffy. Add remaining ingredients except soup and water. Combine well.

Shape into 24 balls about 1 1/3 inches in diameter. Place in shallow pan. Combine soup and water; pour over balls. Bake in moderate oven 350 degrees about 45 minutes.

Serve in heated bowls. Pour sauce over meat balls if desired; accompany with buttered rice or noodles. Can be served as shish kabob. Yield: 6 servings - 4 balls each.
