DECADENT TURTLE CAKE 
1 pkg. German chocolate cake mix (with pudding)
3 c. chopped pecans, divided
3/4 c. butter, melted
1/3 c. evaporated milk
1 (14 oz.) pkg. caramels
1/2 c. evaporated milk
2 c. semi-sweet chocolate morsels

In a mixing bowl, combine cake mix, 2 cups pecans, butter and 1/3 cup evaporated milk. Stir well. Press half of mixture into a greased and floured 9 x 13 baking pan.

Bake in 350°F oven for 8 minutes. Remove and set aside.

Meantime, combine caramels and 1/2 cup evaporated milk in a small heavy saucepan. Cook over low heat until caramels melt. Stir often. Sprinkle 1 cup pecans and chocolate morsels over cake. Drizzle caramel mixture over pecan and chocolate mixture. Crumble remaining cake mixture evenly over caramel mixture.

Bake an additional 20 minutes. Let cool in the pan.
