WILD RICE SOUP 
4 med. carrots, grated
1 sm. onion, chopped
2/3 c. wild rice, uncooked
6-8 broccoli florets, chopped
1 can chicken broth plus 1 can water
4 tbsp. flour
4 tbsp. butter
1 pt. half and half
1/2 to 1 c. chopped ham; optional

In large kettle, cook carrots, onions, rice, and broccoli in 1 can chicken broth and water for 1/2 hour or until rice is cooked. Mix flour and butter; microwave and mix together; add to large kettle. Add half and half; cook and stir until mixture boils. Boil gently approximately 2 minutes. Add chopped ham.

NOTE: Add milk to thin if needed.

All ingredients amounts can vary to taste.

Might add salt to taste if ham is not added.

Since microwave ovens vary in power, you may need to adjust your cooking time.
