APRICOT ALMOND BARS 
1/2 c. melted butter
1/4 c. sugar
1 c. flour
1 tsp. vanilla

Make the crust by mixing above ingredients and pressing into foil-lined 8-inch square metal pan. Bake at 350 degrees for 25 minutes and cool.

Spread over the crust:

1/2 sm. jar apricot jam

Also will need:

1 egg white, beaten
1/4 tsp. almond extract
1/2 c. powdered sugar

Mix thoroughly and spread over jam. Sprinkle with slivered almonds. Bake at 400 degrees for 15-20 minutes. Cool slightly and cut while warm.
