BAKED CARAMEL GOOD STUFF | |
8 c. popcorn 1/2 c. butter 1/4 c. light corn syrup 1/4 tsp. baking soda 1 1/2 c. nuts 1 c. firmly packed brown sugar 1/2 tsp. salt 1/2 tsp. vanilla Combine popcorn and nuts in a large pan and set aside. Melt butter in medium saucepan. Stir in brown sugar, corn syrup, and salt. Bring mixture to a boil, stirring constantly. Boil over medium heat at a slow boil for 5 minutes without stirring. Remove from heat. Stir in soda and vanilla. Gradually pour in syrup mixture over popcorn mixture, mixing well. Spoon mixture into a buttered pan. Bake at 300 degrees for 15 minutes, stir mixture again. Bake 15 more minutes. Cool completely in pan, break into pieces and store in airtight container. |
