1 can sweetened applesauce
1 can crushed pineapple
1 pkg. dry yellow cake mix
1 c. butter
1 1/2 c. nuts, chopped

Grease a 9 x 13 inch pan well. Dump 1 can sweetened applesauce into it. Dump 1 can of crushed pineapple on top of that. Spread 1 package of dry yellow cake mix over that. Melt 1 cup butter and pour on top. Sprinkle 1 1/2 cups chopped nuts over top of everything. DO NOT STIR. Bake at 350 degrees for 1 hour. Top with whipped cream and serve.

Variation: Substitute 1 can of cherry pie filling for the crushed pineapple.
