DENVER CHOCOLATE PUDDING 
1 1/4 cups white sugar. divided
1 cup sifted all-purpose flour
2 tsp. baking powder
1/8 tsp. salt
1 (1 oz.) square unsweetened chocolate
2 tbsp. butter
1/2 cup milk
1 tsp. vanilla
1/2 cup brown sugar
4 tbsp. cocoa
1 cup cold water

Mix and sift together 3/4 cup sugar, flour, baking powder and salt. Melt chocolate and butter together over hot water. Add to flour mixture. Add milk and vanilla and mix well. Pour into greased baking dish, 8-inches square.

Combine brown sugar, remaining 1/2 cup white sugar and cocoa and sprinkle over batter. Pour cold water carefully over top surface.

Bake at 350°F for 40 minutes. Let stand at room temperature until served.

Serves 6.
