CALICO APPLE PIE 
1/2 c. raisins covered with red wine
4 lg. tart apples
1 c. sugar
1 tsp. cinnamon
1/2 c. sugar
3/4 c. flour
1/3 c. butter
1 (9 inch) unbaked pie shell

Soak raisins overnight in wine. Drain them.

Peel and slice apples and arrange with raisins in pastry shell. Mix [1/2 cup] sugar with cinnamon and sprinkle over apples. Sift the other 1/2 cup sugar with the flour and cut in butter until crumbly. Sprinkle over apples.

Bake 400 degrees for 50 minutes.
