DINNER IN A CAN FOR CAMPING | |
1 lb. ground beef 1/2 pkg. dried onion soup mix 1 tsp. dried parsley Frozen crinkle French fried potatoes 1 med. onion, sliced 1 can whole corn 1 (4 oz.) can mushroom slices Salt and pepper to taste For each dinner you will need 1 pound coffee can. Mix ground beef, onion soup mix and dried parsley. Make into 3 patties. Put 1 patty in bottom of coffee can. Place onion slices on top of meat. Next put frozen potatoes, 1/3 of the can of corn, 1/3 of the mushrooms and salt and pepper to taste. Cover can tightly with heavy duty foil. Set among hot coals for 50 to 60 minutes or until vegetables or meat are done. Makes 3 dinners. You can prepare these at home and bring to the campsite in an ice cooler. Use coffee can only once as protective coating on can may be affected by high heat and continual use. |
