SOUTHERN CORNBREAD DRESSING 
Southern Style Cornbread
2 c. chopped onion
2 c. chopped celery
1/4 c. finely chopped bell pepper
1 (7.9 oz.) can sliced water chestnuts
2 apples, chopped
2 tbsp. dried sage
2 tbsp. poultry seasoning
1 tsp. dried sweet basil
2 eggs, beaten
1 lb. cooked crumbled sausage
3 c. chicken broth

Prepare and bake an 8-inch square pan of Southern Style Cornbread. Cool and crumble into a large mixing bowl; set aside.

In another bowl, combine the ingredients; stir together while adding small amounts of cornbread at a time. Blend well. Pour into a buttered 9 x 13 x 2-inch baking pan. Spread evenly and bake at 350°F for 30 to 45 minutes, until golden brown.
