MICROWAVE APPLE CRISP 
6 c. peeled, cored and sliced cooking apples
1 tbsp. lemon juice (optional)

TOPPING:

6 tbsp. butter
3/4 c. packed brown sugar
3/4 c. quick-cooking oats
1/2 c. flour
1 tsp. cinnamon

Serves 6.

Place apples in 8 inch baking dish. Sprinkle with lemon juice. Melt butter in small mixing bowl 1 to 1 1/2 minutes on high. Stir in remaining ingredients until crumbly. Sprinkle over apples evenly. Microwave on high 8 minutes. Rotate dish 1/2 turn.

Microwave 6 to 8 minutes additional until apples are tender. Serve warm or cold. Plain or topped with whipped cream.

Variation: Cherry crisp, substitute 1 can cherry pie filling microwave at high 8 to 11 minutes.

Since microwave ovens vary in power, you may need to adjust your cooking time.
