TEXAS SUGAR COOKIES 
1 c. sugar
1 c. powdered sugar
1 c. soft butter
1 c. shortening
1 tsp. toffee extract or vanilla if you can't find toffee
2 eggs
3 1/2 c. flour
1 c. whole wheat flour (if you can't fine any, use plain old flour)
1 tsp. baking soda
1 tsp. salt
1 tsp. cream of tartar
2 c. chopped pecans
1 pkg. bits o brickle chips (so far, not available in Hope)

In large bowl, blend sugars, butter and shortening. Add extract, eggs, flours, soda, salt and cream of tartar. Stir in pecans and chips. Drop by teaspoon onto ungreased cookie sheet. Sprinkle with sugar, and bake about 15 minutes at 350 degrees.
