GERMAN STYLE STRING BEANS 
1 tbsp. butter
1 onion, diced
1 tbsp. parsley flakes
1 tsp. all-purpose flour
1 beef bouillon cube
pinch of thyme
water
1 box frozen string beans
salt and pepper, to taste

Melt butter. Add onion and parsley flakes. Cook gently for a few minutes. Add flour, bouillon cube, and thyme (careful, not too much). Add water, a little at a time, stirring, until mixture is the thickness of white sauce. Add beans, salt and pepper to taste. Cook slowly until beans are tender, about 15 minutes. Do not follow instructions on frozen package.
