VIENNA BARS 
1 c. (2 sticks butter)
2 1/2 c. sugar (divided)
2 egg yolks
2 1/2 c. flour
1/4 tsp. salt
1 (10 oz.) jar jelly strawberry
4 egg whites
2 c. nuts, finely chopped

Mix creamed butter and 1/2 sugar. Beat in egg yolks and flour and salt; knead with fingers. Pat batter out on greased 9 x 9 inch pan. Bake at 350 degrees for 15 to 20 minutes. Remove from oven. Spread jelly, beat egg whites until stiff. Fold sugar and nuts on top of jelly topping. Spread on crust in pan. Bake 25 minutes longer. Cut into squares. Makes 2 dozen bars.
