APPLE DUMPLING 
2 c. flour
2 tbsp. sugar
1/4 tsp. salt
4 tsp. baking powder
4 tbsp. butter
2 apples, chopped
1/2 c. brown sugar
Cinnamon
Water enough to make soft dough (about 1 scant c.)

Combine dry ingredients, cut in butter. Slowly add water. Combine well. Roll dough to 1/2 inch thickness in rectangle shape. Chop apples, spread over dough. Sprinkle with brown sugar and cinnamon to taste. Roll like jelly roll. Cut into slices and place into baking dish. Make sauce with 1 1/2 pints water, 1 cup sugar, and 1/2 cup butter. Bring to boil and pour over dumplings. Bake at 350 degrees until tender, about 40 minutes.
