GOOEY BUTTER COOKIES 
Yellow or lemon cake mix makes the best cookie!

1 box yellow cake mix (your favorite brand)
1/2 cup (1 stick) butter (do not substitute)
1 (8 oz.) pkg. cream cheese
1/2 tsp. vanilla flavoring
1 egg
confectioners' sugar, for rolling

Preheat oven to 350°F.

With butter and cream cheese at room temperature, cream together until mixed. Add flavoring and egg. Mix until smooth.

Stir in cake mix until blended. Chill, uncovered, for 15 to 20 minutes to stiffen dough. This makes the dough less sticky to work.

Drop by tablespoon into confectioners' sugar, roll until covered. Best if baked on non-stick cookie sheet. Press cookie to flatten just a little.

Tip: The best way to bake, is layer cookie sheet with parchment paper for ease of cookie removal and clean-up.

Depending on cookie size, bake time may vary from 7 to 13 minutes.
