OLD FASHIONED BREAD PUDDING 
3 c. soft bread crumbs (4 c. for firmer pudding)
2 c. milk, scalded with 1/4 c. butter
1/2 c. sugar
2 eggs, slightly beaten
1/4 tsp. salt
1 tsp. cinnamon or nutmeg
1/2 c. seedless raisins

Place bread crumbs in 1 1/2 quarts baking dish. Blend in remaining ingredients; place baking dish in pan of hot water 1 inch deep. Bake 40 to 45 minutes or until silver knife inserted 1 inch from edge comes out clean (350 degree oven). Serve warm with cream.

Makes 6 to 8 servings.
