HEARTY VEGETABLE SOUP 
1 lb. ground chuck
1 med. onion (1/2 c.) chopped
1 green pepper (1 c.) chopped
1/2 c. celery, chopped
1/2 c. carrots, sliced
1 lg. can tomatoes
1/4 c. barley
1 tbsp. salt
1/4 tsp. pepper
1/4 tsp. marjoram
1/4 tsp. thyme
1/4 tsp. or more parsley
8 c. water
1 env. Lipton country vegetable soup mix

Saute meat. Add onion and brown. Add water, vegetables and seasoning. Simmer 1 hour. Add envelope and simmer 30 minutes longer.
