APRICOT NUT LOAF 
1 c. sugar
2 tbsp. shortening
1 egg
3/4 c. milk
3/4 c. orange juice
4 tsp. grated orange rind
3 c. flour
3 1/2 tsp. baking powder
1 tsp. salt
1 c. finely chopped dried apricot
3/4 c. chopped nuts

Grease a loaf pan. Mix thoroughly sugar, shortening and egg. Stir in milk, orange juice and rind. Sift together flour, baking powder and salt. Stir in. Blend in apricot and nuts. Pour into prepared pan. Let stand 20 minutes. Heat oven to 350 degrees. Bake about 70 minutes.
