SNICKERDOODLES 
1 c. shortening
1 1/2 c. sugar
2 eggs
2 3/4 c. flour
2 tsp. cream of tartar
1 tsp. baking soda
1 tsp. vanilla
1/2 tsp. salt

Cream together sugar, butter, and eggs; add flour, tartar, baking soda, vanilla, and salt; mix well. Form dough into walnut size balls and then roll into a sugar and cinnamon mixture made of equal parts of cinnamon and sugar. Bake 10- 12 minutes on ungreased cookie sheet at 350 degrees.
