1 box raisins
1 stick butter
1 1/2 c. sugar
2 eggs
3 c. sifted flour
2 tsp. nutmeg
2 tsp. cinnamon
2 tsp. baking soda

ICING:

1/3 stick butter
1 box confectioners' sugar
Few drops of milk or lemon extract

Cover raisins with water and simmer for 20 minutes. Drain off 1 cup of water and hold aside. Drain completely and let raisins cool. Cream butter, sugar, eggs and water. Sift dry ingredients and add to mixture. Grease and flour cake pans. Bake at 375 degrees for 60 minutes.
